Erickson Piano Studio: Studio Policies 2012-2013
Preparedness for Lessons:
Student must bring assignment folder, music books, and be on time for lessons.
Practicing: Student needs to have access to a piano or good quality keyboard and a metronome. Student uses practice
skills that are clearly taught in lessons. Amount of practice time expected will be discussed with student for their level.
Parents need to ensure a quiet and supportive atmosphere for home practice.
Cancellations:
I reserve a place in my schedule for each student, therefore students are expected to attend their scheduled lesson time.
Illness: Please call instructor to inform of illness PRIOR to scheduled lesson. The lesson will be rescheduled at a mutually agreeable time. If a student does not attend the make-up lesson, the lesson fee will be forfeited.
Other Cancellations: You must contact me with a MINIMUM of 24 hours notice OR swap lessons with another piano student.
Lesson Swap: Students who cannot make their scheduled lesson may swap lesson times with another piano student. The party who initiates the swap is responsible for informing instructor.
Families may opt out of the Lesson Swap List by writing a letter requesting to do so (no-emails). Studio Cancellation Policies still apply whether you choose to participate or not participate on the Lesson Swap List.
Recitals/Performance Classes:
Studio recitals and performance classes are offered for the benefit of all students. Performance Classes are held at the studio 2-4 times per year for small groups of students (no parents please). Recitals are held 2-3 times per year at a public facility and family and friends are invited to attend. Students are expected to wear dress clothes at recitals and public performances.
Photography/Videotaping:
Recitals are videotaped by Pegasus Portraits and Productions of Kirksville and Performance Classes are videotaped by myself. DVDs are compiled, edited, and professionally finished by Pegasus Portraits and Productions. Families are encouraged to purchase this high quality DVD for their student and family.
Group photos of Recitals/Performance Classes will be posted (no student names on web) at ericksonpiano.com, on the Erickson Piano Studio Facebook page and submitted to the Kirksville Daily Express. If you do not want your child's photo shared, you may opt out by writing a letter requesting to do so (no e-mails).
Individual photos or videos from recitals or lessons may be uploaded to ericksonpiano.com, YouTube, or the Erickson Piano Studio Facebook page. I will ALWAYS request permission BEFORE I upload any individual photos or videos.
Yearly Enrollment Fee:
$20.00 fee includes student enrollment in lessons, recitals, performance classes, and subscription to Piano Explorer magazine.
Tuition:
Paid monthly by cash or check, due at the first lesson of each month.
Individual: 30 minutes $15.00 per lesson, 45 minutes $20.00 per lesson, 60 minutes $25.00 per lesson
Partner:* 30 minutes $10.00 per lesson, 45 minutes $15.00 per lesson, 60 minutes $20.00 per lesson
*Both partners must attend the lesson to receive discounted rates.
