Erickson Piano Studio Composition Contest 2013 Guidelines:

Theme: The Seasons

Pick ONE season.  Think of what the weather is like during that season, what usually happens during that time, what kinds of animals or plants are seen then, or what kind of activities you can enjoy (such as swimming, sledding, hiking, etc.) 

Categories:
I: Grades pre-K- 2
II: Grades: 3-6
III: Grades: 7-12

General Information:

Students will select a topic about the theme and will compose an original piece.  Teacher will assist students in writing the music down on staff paper.  Students will also write a brief description about their piece and create a piece of art work.  Students will perform their own composition at our spring piano recitals.  Student musical scores and art work will also be on display at the recitals.  Winners will be announced at the spring piano recitals.

Submission:
Student entries will have the Student Category Number and Student Number as identification.  Deadline for submission will be March 1st. 

 

These rules are in accordance with Clavier's Piano Explorer magazine.  All students will be entered in BOTH the Erickson Piano Studio and Piano Explorer Composition Contests.

Students will select a topic about the theme and will compose an original piece.  Teacher will assist students in writing the music down on staff paper.  Students will also write a brief description about their piece and create a piece of art work.  Students will perform their own composition at our spring piano recitals.  Student musical scores and art work will also be on display at the recitals.  Winners will be announced at the spring piano recitals (March 31 and April 1).

Submission:
Student entries will have the Student Category Number and Student Number as identification.  Deadline for submission will be March 12th. 

 

These rules are in accordance with Clavier's Piano Explorer magazine.  Students will be encouraged to submit their compositions to this contest as well.
